The New Face of the Travel Industry
For a few years now, we have grown quite accustomed to all of the commercials, ads, and billboards promoting Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity and many more online travel portals that have become household names.
But, the travel industry is once again beginning a transition phase that is sure to once again change the face of the travel industry.
There are a few companies that have started over the past five to six years that have developed a program that allows people to start their own businesses as Work From Home Travel Agents, or Referring Travel Agents (RTA's).
A Referring Travel Agent is someone who purchases an online travel store and spends most of their time marketing their travel portals to as many people as they can. Often times, the mantra is that travel store owners can market to their family and friends in hopes that they will book their travel with someone they know instead of a faceless internet site.
And the concept is catching on quickly. There are more than 150, 000 RTA's throughout the United States and Canada who are earning a commission on their own travel, and the travel that their clients have booked through the RTA's travel store.
Some people become Referring Travel Agents for their own personal use, and yet others have been able to capitalize on the earning potential that is available. Of course, income is never guaranteed with any program but the parent travel companies that have been around for a few years now have developed extensive training programs to help the beginning RTA learn as much about the travel business as possible.
These training programs also allow work from home RTA's to work toward earning certain travel agent credentials as well. These credentials available through ARC, CLIA, and IATAN have been around for many years and are put in place to show the level of qualification and expertise of the referring travel agent.
As RTA's earn these credentials, they are sometimes qualified for certain Familiarization Trips (Fam Trips) that certain resort properties offer to experienced travel agents. These trips are often deeply discounted, and are offered in hopes that the travel agent that participates will come home and tell all of their clients about the property.
This is, and has been a very effective way to market vacation destinations. . . and it is a little known secret that traditional travel agents don't want others to know about. The new face of travel, the Referring Travel Agent is open to many opportunities that the traditional travel agent took years to accomplish. The reason for the advancement is because of the internet and the availability of many tools including state of the art travel portals that allow work from home rta's to promote the travel industry effectively, and for profit.
A few of the Referring Travel Agent companies allow for the RTA's to build a team of travel agents from their home office. Often times, other RTA's can be added to their team and over ride commissions can be earned. It is set up, in a way, like a real estate office. There is a broker, and agents working for the broker to help earn a profit.
This is a fantastic business model that works for many, many different industries and is becoming more popular every day.
If you are considering starting your own business from home, or looking to add numerous travel options to your current business, then the Referring Travel Agent is definately an affordable way to join the worldwide explosion that is taking place in the travel industry.
